| Dutch twin sisters Truus and Riet Spijkers studied at the AKI Academy of Fine Art & Design in Enschede, the Netherlands and at the Fashion Department of the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem) where they graduated. In 1996 they set up their own label Spijkers en Spijkers. Their collections show strong art deco and modernist influences, and are both functional and decorative simultaneously. |
